The church of San Francisco represents what is left of the Franciscan convento constructed in the 1560s. The compound was ravaged by fire in 1813 and drastically rebuilt. Nevertheless, some Baroque elements remain, including roundels of the Four Evangelists. The rear, handsomely rehabilitated Plateresque portal may represent the facade's original entrance. |
